Hi All! I've done some progress on the preps of Zafi's birthday such that:

I was able to buy balloons from Divisoria Mall and hubby's tried to inflate them to see their quality. Unfortunately, 3 out of the 10 twisted balloons exploded. I don't know if we blew them up wrong or they were really of bad quality. I spent about 300 for 3 kinds of balloons, and I bought 2 confetti sprays for P90 each. Well anyway, he's assigned to the decoration department so I don't have to worry so much about those. 

I've started considering other caterers because there really is not much reviews about Pierre Angelli and I cannot risk the food.. So I looked up other affordable but really sulit caterers with lots of good feedback on smartparenting.com and femalenetwork.com. I hope we'll push through with the food tasting at Lin's Catering on Thursday because as of now, they're the ones on top of my list. Next is Lola Mamang's but what turned me off was that I still have to pay for the rentals of tables and chairs. That's an additional 3,400 for all 10 tables! With that price, I can hire other more expensive caterers. Anyway, I've scheduled food tasting with them on Sunday, if we don't like Lin's. For the kids' food I found out about this home-based catering/delivery service which can provide food for the kids for a very minimal fee (http://www.homemadefoodstuff.com). And I think I've got the kids' food solved right there. As for the venue,  I'm still waiting for hubby to come back from Bicol so we could agree on the venue when we do our ocular on Thurs, and I promise we will really book on the spot. For the cake, I don't really worry much anymore 'coz I've found the supplier -- http://polkadotsevents.multiply.com. They sent me a quotation and pictures of their Precious Moments cake and were quite nice over the phone. The price of their cake is a wee bit higher than my budget but it's definitely nicer than how I imagined it to be.  

Now all I'm worried about is the entertainment! And other smaller details. Zafi's birthday is fast approaching and I'm really getting nervous by the day. I really hope it turns out well.

Because we weren't able to book Balai Kalinaw, we are moving the party to Shakey's SM North on the date we want which is the day after Zafi's actual birthday-- November 13. We've already given out the invites courtesy of Shakey's to some of our friends but the guest count has gone up to more than a hundred.. We're just gonna have to charge some of the bill if it goes beyond the budget. 


The new theme is Powerpuff Girls which I think is cute and quite uncommon. I went to Divisoria yesterday to buy the rest of the balloons we are going to need, and I didn't find many PPG-themed goodies.


I was also able to buy a scrapbook which I'll use as a guest book and some prizes for the games as these aren't provided by Shakey's.
